Pretty good little toy., Ernest S Sanchez - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Spy Net Recording Goggles - Night Vision (Toy) Customer Video Review Length:: 4:24 MinsUpdate 26 Feb: After doing an educational outing with these to a local elementary school and my general love of this product I upgraded the rating to 5 star. Originally I gave it 4 as an average of the sub ratings for toys (i gave 3,4, and 5 for an average of 4). But these things are just too cool. Despite a few limitations they are just awesome. The outing went well and the kids absolutely loved them. Original review: I made a video using this product to give people an idea of what they would see with it. Ignore the part where I say it is a different product, that was for something else this is the product. Keep in mind the resolution on the thing is not top quality by any means, and that affects picture quality. I did not have it well focused at the beginning, as you will see part way through. I managed to get a second regular camera running at the same time and have it mostly synchronized. Sorry, the sound may drift off at... Enable a child to have some fun. Of course the specifications of this toy cannot compare to actual infra-red goggles used by the military. I would recommend this to any child over the age of 8 (it is recommended for children age 8 and older). I even recommend it to an adult who would like to have this technology for personal, legal use. When this technology first hit the consumer market several years ago, they were very expensive, several hundred dollars up to a few thousand dollars. Amazon has a decent price, but I'm sorry you missed the deal November 28th on Woot. 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful Works as advertised, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Spy Net Recording Goggles - Night Vision (Toy) Got this a few days ago. Like it. Records night vision with sound. (watch out for trees when walking! ;) One thing...if Supposed to be stealthy...why does 1gb usb stick have a red light on it? DUH! (wish usb stick did not stick straight up...worried about breaking). Depth perception a problem when moving around so take care. But can see in total darkness. One thing...if outside in dark when activating, turn on away from eyes...as the turn on screen is bright white and ruins night vision! Distance not spectacular...but it IS a toy. Overall...I think these are pretty cool! I just need to adapt to be hands-free like in the movies...perhaps a headlamp strap and hot glue gun? ;) Oh...watched a cat walk across backyard. I would make a slight noise every so often to get it's attention...but cat could not recognize my presence. Without glasses...was pitch black and could not see anything! |
